Before HFX International became what it is today, there were three hackers in a New Jersey town who wanted to make the digital underground a better place.

These three hackers got together one night in July of 1992 and decided to think of a way to improve the underground community. After drinking countless bottles of Jolt cola discussing numerous ideas in front of the television set in a basement room, they came up with the idea to bring the underground together as one single unified society. If this could be achieved, it would strengthen the society as a whole and allow for more things to be accomplished. It was then that HFX was formed.

The result was an overwhelming response, and HFX became associated with many individuals and groups within the underground. Due to all the support backed by many other organizations, HFX has become a key influence involving matters of the underground.

Since that time, we have set out to expand our role within the underground community and continue to do so every day. We have since branched off a few separate entities that provide different services to the underground community as well as the general public. HFXcon is one of these such entities.

In 1999, we also came up with the thought that it would be a good idea to host our own public convention. We knew that there are many conventions that have been around for years, but we thought of a few ideas to set us apart from the rest. By hosting a convention ourselves, we are keeping with the goal of educating the masses and bringing people together to share ideas and knowledge. It is hoped that HFXcon will one day become a place to bring together individuals and companies whose goals are for technological advancement to share ideas so that we may make society a better place.

Since that faithful night in July 1992, HFX has grown in support and will continue to do what it was originally intended to do. As we always say, "Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos."
