Who are you people?

That's simple. We are a bunch of hackers who got together to make the underground a better place. Take a look at our Mission Statement under the Organization section of our site to find out more.

Who makes up HFX and are there any women?

To answer your question of if there are any women amongst the HFX staff, yes there are. We have had women in the past as staff members, currently do, and will continue to as we do not discriminate who our staff is by ethnicity, gender, or religion. HFX Staff members get the job done despite what they look like or who they are. If you are interested in seeing who the people are that currently make up HFX, please take a look at the Staff section of our site.

What kinds of projects are you currently working on?

We are always working on many different projects at one particular time. A list of all the projects we make known publicly are described in the Projects section of our site.

Can you send me some l33t warez man?

We host many types of files on our site, however we do not host pirated software. Everything we have available is free and can be downloaded through any web browser.

I need help getting into server.com, can you help me out?

Unless you own this server and are requesting our assistance in testing its security, the answer is no. We get tons of these questions asking us to hack this server or that email account and we have basically heard every story you can think of including the ones that offer money in return. If you truly want in on this server, you need to do it yourself. We have other things to attend to which doesn't include doing jail time because we helped you hack the Pentagon.

I would like to come visit your operation. What's the address?

Unfortunately we do not hold a physical open-door policy for visitors. Since we have staff spread across the entire globe, visiting us just isn't in the cards. The only thing kept at the office is the servers that run our sites. If all you want is to take a look at our servers, we will be happy to snap a photo and send it to you in an email, but no in-person visits. If you are a reporter or writer that wants to do an interview, we will make special allowances as long as you contact us beforehand. Other then that, if you want to meet the HFX Staff in the flesh, you will have to simply attend one of the conventions we plan to visit.

What does the HFX stand for in HFX International?

When HFX was originally established, it was called Hack Factor X. The name was a representation of the one sole aspect of hacking that unites hackers everywhere. However in 1998, we officially changed our name to HFX International.

Yes, we did have a Webring that was composed of many different sites related to hacking. Unfortunately, the upkeep was more hassle then what it was worth. Being that there are many other webrings that cover the same area of interest, it was decided we should deactivate ours.

Sorry, but no. We have entirely too much to do in our day to day operations which leaves us no time to teach anyone. We do occasionally publish tutorials on various subjects that may be of some interest to you. Our advice to you if you are eager to learn to be a hacker is simply read as much as you can about various subjects in the computing field. Things such as Unix, Security, Networking and others will help you on your way.

Can you send me some of your files?

The answer is no. All of our files are publicly available to anyone and downloadable through any web browser. If you cannot download them yourself then chances are you really don't need them. If we sent files to everyone who asked us, we could be held partially accountable for any malicious actions you take using them because it can be viewed as aiding criminal activity.

Since I am a member of your forum, does that mean I am an HFX member?

Unfortunately no, you are not an HFX member. More often then not participants in our online discussion forum believe to be an official part of HFX. This is probably due to the fact that there is a need for authorization to be a forum member. The reason we do this is to keep out those who have been kicked out for abusing the forum from getting back in again. A listing of all the official staff members can be viewed in the Staff section of our site.

No, we will not help you find anyone. While the media will have you believe the only people who can get every bit of vital information on a person are hackers, this is not entirely true. Because we live in an information age, anything and everything is available for view in a database somewhere. If you look around the internet, you are bound to find a service willing to research someone for you at a price. We get many email messages asking us to help find specific people for various reasons. If we helped you find who you asked us to, there is no way we could be 100% sure you are searching them out for good reason. If anything negative were to arise from our assisting you in finding them, we could be held partially accountable.
