Candidate Requirements

• Command of HTML and JavaScript (without WSIWYG editors)
• Familiarity with DHTML
• Experience in programming Perl 5
• Experience with "middleware" languages like PHP, Cold Fusion, and ASP
• Knowledge of the limitation of various browsers and their differences
• Experience with streaming media and other audio/video formats
• Ability to create professional looking Macromedia Flash content
• Experience in using Apache web server
• Experience in Windows NT or 2000 and IIS 4 and 5
• Understanding of Local Area Networks a plus
• Flexibility to travel both nationally and internationally
• Possession of a United States Passport and or an international passport a plus

Job Requirements & Tasks

Persons filling this position will be required to create web applications for the convention and integrate LAN systems with the HFXcon website. It will also require the setup for audio and video streaming of convention events live via the web using both Real and Windows Media server technologies. Creation of applications during off season of the convention such as voting, registration, etc is also a requirement. This position is part-time and can be done from home during the off season of the convention but is full-time during convention dates and will require travel. Travel may include going overseas to foreign countries as well as within the US.
